I am trying to figure out if the cost of an online degree is actually going to be less than some of the campus degrees in my area??? I am looking at some other state schools - but I am not sure what the cost per credit is, and if it matters if I live in the state or not for an online program ... ?

Also, I am wondering if anyone knows whether the University of Phoenix online classes are cheaper than their campus classes and I am not sure where to find out??? I am trying to enroll in an online summer class so any help ASAP would be appreciated!!!!!

Tuition rates for in-state vs. online degrees will vary by school. Some schools offer low in-state rates, high out of state, with online degrees in between. Other schools may offer comparable rates for all programs. Finding the best rates could take some research, since online programs are relatively new and there are no regulations in place for this as of yet.

As for your second question, I'm not entirely sure about University of Phoenix online vs. on campus tuition, but you can always request information from them to find out. You can request info here. Let me know how it goes!

Thanks - that is sort of what I found too... but I hoping there was a more definitive answer? I am starting figure out that there really isn't a standard cost for online education credit versus campus credit.

The link in your post ( http://www.edvisors.com/schools/univers ... mation.php ) was helpful - I requested information using that form and I was sort of wary because I had to fill it out as if I was interested in getting an entire bachelor's degree in business (when I really just want to take 1 course) but I got an email and ended up talking to representative. After a long series of questions they were actually pretty helpful - apparently the University of Phoenix campus location near me offers a similar course as the online school but is actually CHEAPER. I wouldn't have necessarily thought that - but I guess you are paying for the technology and you get a wider choice of courses. I am not sure still which to enroll in .....
